Abortion

                        In today’s society there are many mothers and even fathers that have mixed opinions about abortion and its affects. A lot of people aren’t really sure if abortion is good or bad and there are many people that can see why abortion would be okay and why it is horribly wrong. Abortion is legal in the United States of America but not all people think just because its legal doesn’t mean that it is okay to do. But other sources say different and think that abortion is legal for a reason, therefore they think it is something that can be tolerated. There are many opinions on the topic of abortion and it will always be a debatable discussion.

            There are thousands of people in the united states that have their opinion that abortion is as wrong as can be and will most definitely will not tolerate it. This is a baby that is being born into the world and has a chance to start life and begin its journey and nothing or no one gives it the right to make abortion right. From day one inside of the mother the fetus has the ability to feel pain. It is able to kick inside of the mother because it feels things hitting it and wants to move around to get away from this pain. One of the other reasons why the against party thinks abortion is wrong is because all life is sacred. There is no one on this planet that doesn’t deserve to live and get the chance to have the best life that they can possibly imagine or dream of. As I mentioned before there is no human that has the right to take a life away because only god has the right to determine if that person has the right to live or not. It is not up to us if any human being should stay on this planet because everyone has the right to control their own destiny no matter how good or bad a person is or will become. Every abortion clinic across America is run off of our tax money that we pay. The government is taking everyone’s money that they work for and using it to do something that is considered murder to some and they do this without even asking what they use our money for. Some people are so heartless that if they have a baby that is disabled they will automatically think that they have to have an abortion because their baby will not grow up “normal” and have a “normal” life which is completely wrong because they do not have the right to say what is normal or not. Others say that if a mother is unstable mentally than she can’t have a baby or can’t raise the baby but as stated before no one has the right to take a life. There are plenty of reasons and people that think abortion is wrong and have their own opinions about the matter.

On the other side of this topic there are tons of people that agree and think that abortion is okay and they have many reasons for their reasoning. One reason is because laws against abortion kill women. The laws against abortion cause the women that don’t want a baby to go out and find someone or a company that will give them an abortion that is unsafe and illegal which is incredibly dangerous. Women will go out looking for any way that is possible to get rid of their baby if they really do not want it. Now that abortion is legal it really protects the health of woman. Some women that have babies have a difficult time keeping good health after they give birth which is also dangerous and could be fatal. On this side of the topic people also think that a woman is more than a fetus. A woman already has a life that she is living and sometimes it will be safer to abort the baby and protect herself. Women have many options in the world today and being a mother is just one of those options that they have. They can decide that they want to continue their motherhood or change their mind and possibly have a career or go in a different direction in their lives.

In my opinion abortion is most definitely a bad decision and is a touchy subject when it comes to pregnancies. I think that abortion should not be allowed for multiple reasons and should be illegal. It is not necessary to take an innocent life that should be given the right to live a good and strong life and be given the chance to experience the world like we do or like that mother that could possibly be so selfish and say she deserves a life but her baby does not. I am totally against the fact of abortion and I think that if something horrible happens, such as rape, the mother should still give birth to the baby and give it up for adoption if worse comes to worse. In an overall analysis of the topic of abortion I truly feel that it is a decision that should never be made and something that should never happen.

I have played basketball and football all of my life and when it comes to equipment such as shoes I know what kinds are the best. I am applying for this job simply to make extra money before my first year of college.

As a sophomore at Roosevelt High School I was nominated to be in the CHSSA leadership program. Throughout High School I managed to maintain a 3.3 G.P.A and have been on the honor roll as well. I have been responsible enough to stay on top of my grades and school work which also brought me two academic all state 1^st team honors in both football and basketball. I will be attending college in the fall of 2011 and also will be playing in basketball tournaments in the Bahamas and in Illinois. All these activities require a lot of money and I feel that Foot Locker can help me achieve my goal of making enough money that will allow me to go on a trip of a lifetime.

As I have already said I have played sports my whole life. In football and basketball I learned how to be a leader and it made me incredibly disciplined. I know that I am a good leader and can get along with my working partners as well. In this I have also gained good social skills that will be to my benefit. As you can see from my resume, I have been working on a farm for about two years now. This job made me achieve a toughness that I didn’t have before that prepared me for the real world. Along with leading I am also capable of following and willing to learn anything new. In my second job that I had I worked for the Town of Milliken. In this environment I was the new guy and had to learn to follow before I could be a leader.

            I feel that are many reasons as to why it is important for me to go to college. I would be the first person in my family and I take that as a huge honour. I feel that I am in a position to make my family proud and I cannot let them down. I want to show them that I am a leader and can be a successful person by using my education to achieve greatness. College is even more important to me because I want to be successful and have an incredible future that I can be proud of and be a prime example of what I want my kids to be. I want to be the dad that can stand tall when my kids ask where I work and I know by going to a college to further my education I know I can be the outstanding person I want to be. I know what I want to major in and I am organized as far as continuing my education. I can be an athletic trainer by going to college and I also know that I can receive the proper training that I need to be elite at what I do. By going to college I will be accomplishing so much more than anyone thought I could. I would be quieting all the people that said I wouldn’t amount to nothing and that there was no way that a Hispanic boy could come out of a small town and be successful. I would be breaking through all this adversity and achieving a lifelong goal that I would forever be proud of.

Determination

There are many things in life that people love and dream about, but there are only a select few that have the determination to achieve their goals. Determination is the quality that is key in every person in order to be a successful human being. If I have the determination to go out and take what I want I am on the right path to success. Millions of people start dreaming as young adults in high school and generate many ideas of what they would like to do in the real world. By working hard for what people want, will they have the determination to achieve their hopes and dreams?

           

On wordnetweb.princeton.edu the noun definition for determination is the quality of being determined to do or achieve something; firmness of purpose; a strong wish to do something, and not let anyone stop them from doing it. As a verb, “his determination showed in his every movement”; “he is a man of purpose”. In my eyes, determination means that a person has the will power as a human being to go out and achieve their goals, no matter what gets in the way, and no matter what adversity they have to overcome. The word determination, I think, would feel like a few things that have to associate with hard work. It would feel like having a goal set in mind that any person and only that person can achieve by not getting side tracked by anything that does not relate to their dreams. It would be a ton of emotion and energy to take someone where they want to go. Since I was a little kid I have wanted nothing more than to succeed in basketball and compete at the college level and possibly even further than that. When I hit the high school stage my determination to achieve my goals began. I was no longer a child and knew I had to grow up to make my future what I always dreamed it to be. As a freshman, I was put on the C basketball team, and I took that as disrespect towards me and my abilities. My coaches did not respect me, and it made me furious. I did not let that stop me though. I am now a senior, and I have not stopped working hard to prove my coaches wrong and show them that I did not deserve to be put on C team a few years ago. I now average close to 18 points per game and lead my team in steals and in total points. But, I did not become the player I am by just simply flipping on a switch. Over the summer I made goals that I wanted to achieve and I made sure that I committed myself to those goals and did everything I could to achieve them. My determination is a strong quality that I think I have. “You have to learn the rules of the game. And then you have to play better than anyone else.” This quote from Thinkexists.Com is a determination quote that I strongly agree with. I believe that the only way to do something is to do it to the best of someone’s abilities and try to be the best at whatever they are doing. “Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful people with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent. The slogan "press on" has solved and always will solve the problems of the human race”. This quote, also from Thinkexists.com, is a terrific example of determination. It is saying that just because someone has the talent to be great at something doesn’t mean that it will just come to them and they will be successful at it. Its saying not simply being smart or being talented can ever take the place of hard work and determination. “We must remember that one determined person can make a significant difference, and that a small group of determined people can change the course of history.” This kind of determination I feel is what has made our world into what it is today. The determination to do whatever it takes made people successful in our world and it had a beautiful outcome. All the man-made structures in world are just some examples of what the word determination means and what someone can achieve by being determined.

           

I have many goals that I want to achieve in my life, and I know what I have to do to achieve them. I will always keep the strong determination in my life so that I can be successful and never let anyone get in my way no matter what they say. The word determination is a simple word that can have a serious impact in the future. If a person has a goal set in their mind, they cannot let anyone get in the way of what they want to accomplish. No matter what happens or how hard anything gets in life, overcome the adversity and be successful, with strong determination.
